About the Administrative Maven

I have been working in the Business Administration field for over 25 years. During that time, I have worked for a variety of industries; Restaurants, Construction, Higher Education & Non-Profits. I have gathered a breadth of skills & gained knowledge that is sure to help you achieve your goals. I also completed my Real Estate Courses in February 2023.

From a young age, I showed an aptitude for organization and business systems. From helping my mother organize a 50th Anniversary event for my grandparents when I was twelve, to more recently helping one of my best friends get her Real Estate business organized & branded – I have always loved playing with systems and working with files to help others.

In High School, I was able to move quickly from table attendant (read busser) to Hostess & Office Manager for our local ‘white tablecloth’ restaurant after it became evident that the owner needed help so that he could focus on his passion for cooking. After High School, I worked for a local Construction company earning valuable experience with Microsoft Office Systems. After a few years, I moved to Austin Texas where I began working for a Real Estate agent as an Administrative Assistant then on to Apartment Manager for local apartment communities allowing me to gain expertise in real estate systems. My big break came in 2004 when I began working for The University of Texas at Austin. I was hired to create the administrative systems for the new Center for Systems & Synthetic Biology. This was a very exciting opportunity as it allowed me to truly create systems from scratch ensuring that this new department ran as efficiently as its parent entity. Additionally, this gave me the ability to gain experience in Grant Management.

Fast forward to 2011 and me being pregnant with my third child. After a lengthy chat with my husband (& biggest cheerleader) Brad, it becomes clear that I have two choices – I can either continue working & use those funds to pay for childcare OR I can transition to a “Stay At Home Mom” and be available for all my little beans’ milestones myself!! Well, big surprise, I chose my kids & family – but I also learned quickly that having a ‘side hustle’ would help keep me sane and provide for our family’s growing needs. Thus – The Administrative Maven was born! I have been extremely blessed to have worked with amazing people from over ten different small businesses. In the fall of 2021, I became a Certified Real Estate Professional Assistant! I am so happy to be able to add this knowledge to my foundation of services!!

I hope to be able to use my considerable experience to help you grow and thrive with your own small business!
